[The only sound for a moment is the knock of the gear being tapped against something semi-hard, and similarly the only thing in focus is a white eggshell with the corners of red and blue shapes.

Also the sound of the 'Gear being chewed on. Omnomnomnom.]

[The voice is deep, warm, and affectionate.]

[The feed is a little smeared on one corner, and the camera unknowingly focuses on a large, pale hand offering one of the donuts rice balls that Mom packs standard in her bento to a very small Togepi, who takes it in its little hands and shoves the whole thing into its mouth at once. The voice laughs offscreen, and the camera gets a closeup of his green overalls as he untucks his purple t-shirt to wipe the drool off the corner.

It's then that he notices that the camera's on, and finally brings his face into focus.]

...Sorry about that, I hope he didn't bother anybody.

Togepi climbs into his lap and settles in the crook of his legs.]

Hardly. The young ones are curious by nature; accidentally turning the Pokégear on is almost a rite of passage for them, unless they quickly learn to do so deliberately.

That it is. It'd be rather more alarming coming from, say, an Onix or a Rhyhorn, but young Togepis are rarely destructive, unless they use Metronome.

[He pulls a notepad out of his pocket. You can write things into the Pokegear, but if it's not an old fashioned pen and paper, it doesn't feel right.]

She's a Sylveon, the evolved form of an Eevee. Her name's Himiko.

[Himiko chirps and waves one of her feelers in a hello gesture.]

[The little mouse that pops up on the screen is more interested in the Togepi than his apparently absent trainer is. And there's giant blue bird, too.

They both make chirping and squeaking sounds to get the little guys attention.

[The Togepi squeaks and hides his face nervously, peeking one eye from around North's pantleg. North takes stock of the situation and decides to kneel down and help the little guy make new friends.]

It's okay, they're not gonna hurt you.

[A very quiet, very tremulous little "Toge..."]

[The Altaria looks to something off screen as the Dedenne waved it's little arm as a greeting. A moment later the Altaria lifts the Gear up and carries it over to two more Pokémon and a boy sitting between them. The boy blinks and sighs, grabbing it from the bird.]

Sky, stop trying to call people. I know you're happy I'm back-

[Oh. The screen's on. Roxas stares for a moment before rubbing the back of his neck, smiling sheepishly.]

.... I-I'm sorry! Did she bother you?

Pretty much. I have a friend who has a later evolution of Togepi. They're pretty nice to have around.
