[...Eggs.

The living room is full of eggs. There are so many eggs. There are also a bunch of proud mamas, a Sylveon with her tail proudly aloft, a Floette sitting daintily on the back of the couch (upon which are temporarily piled six eggs, three with green flower-like markings and three with blue and red triangles), a Pikachu sitting on the arm of the couch overlooking a veritable MASS of yellow and black and orange and black eggs, and of course, a fussy Chansey lording over the whole affair like a waddling Florence Nightingale.

North himself is not visible, but he's certainly audible as he slowly pans over the overload of egg. So many egg.]

So as you may not know, I'm a designated breeder. I had to wait a while to start because a lot of my Pokemon to start with were babies. Meaning I had a few that were literal, "undiscovered egg group" babies.

Anyway, so if you're in the market for some eggs, maybe a present for that special someone or maybe just to treat yourself, I have a few here to choose from. Let's see, we've got... A veritable swarm of eggs over here, some Dedenne and some, uh, Pikachu? No, that's right, Pichu.

[Pikachu! Dahlia chirps, heart-shaped tail waving cheerfully as she monitors her brood.]

I experimented with my starter and my Floette, which, uh, I don't think ended up so well in the moves department. But there's both Togepi and Flabebe to choose from, so if you've been looking for one or the other I'm happy to oblige.

And then, the beautiful Charlotte over here [Sylvee!] has graciously provided a couple of little future Eevees, and also a Cubchoo courtesy of Addie.

And last but not least, I've got a couple Happiny eggs, from the indomitable Miss Cheerilee. Say hello, Cheeri. [Chansey Chansey!]

Oh- also, York still has a bunch of eggs. [Pan over to another little clutch of eggs in the corner.] I think a few Meowth, some Shinx, that one looks like a Sneasel... There's still some Elgyem, I know York and D-2 are proud of those, so I'd love to help them find good homes.

And it looks like York still has one Snubbull left for his baseball deal.

[His tone is disgustingly fond. Gag.]

Yeah. There we go. Plenty of eggs, ready to find good homes.

Was it because of the cold, or did something happen on the road? And how's your little guy doing?

I'm glad Rascal and Massena are sticking around to help you. York's not around right now, but I'll pass that along when he gets home.

Were you planning to stay in Cherrygrove for a little while to get your bearings?

[So many questions... It's almost overwhelming. Almost.]

Yeah. There's no way I can just set out again, even though- someone got me a, uh, Stantler, I think he's called? To help with the travel, eventually.

As for the way here... It was just really cold, and um, I didn't really want to be...walking anywhere, anyway. Agatha's- okay, she actually really liked fighting anything that tried to give us trouble?

[North chuckles a little at that.]

That sounds like Charlotte, my Sylveon. She came out of the egg ready to fight the world.

But it looks like you've got a place to stay, for now. The Cherrygrove Inn is pretty nice. Definitely more comfortable than outdoors.

I'll stay here until, uh. I don't know, I have to start getting money? I'm already spending some with food and getting a room and all that. I don't really want to get a stable job, like I'm setting down roots or something, that'd be weird.

[Being the girl she is, she can't resist asking.] But, um, what's a Sylveon? Everyone talks about...all these Pokémon around here and I barely know any of them, let alone anything outside of the handbook about...eggs and all that.

[North has carefully made room among all the eggs on the couch to sit down, and at her question there's a Vee! offscreen, before the pink, beribboned pokemon from his broadcast hops up into his lap like she owns it. Charlotte licks her paw and smooths it over her face, before turning her big blue eyes on the camera. North chuckles and pets her.]

That would be this lady right here. She evolved from an Eevee, it's a little fluffy brown fox...cat...thing. Eevee actually has a lot of different evolutions. I think...eight? Nine? something like that.

[From the very sight of Slyveon, Ashley perks up. A slow smile spreads across her face.]

Oh, wow... She's so beautiful! Is she soft? You said- an Eevee's like a cat, so, she's soft, right?

[And she fell in love instantly.]

[He runs his hand along her fur like he's gauging her softness critically. She practically purrs under the attention, closing her eyes and tilting her head back, ribbons swishing gently.]

Her fur's shorter than it was when she was an Eevee, but she's still very soft.

She's a sweet girl, aren't you Char?

[You can practically see the amie hearts as she leans happily into pets from her beloved trainer.]

Where can you find them? I want one, I-

[Ashley's all heart-eyes and paying complete attention to Charlotte, so she doesn't notice the Espurr crawling over to her until he's right on her lap...and consequently right in the camera.]

O-oh! Eliot, y- yes, you're very soft too, of course you are.

[Sigh. Pets for the wide-eyed, awkward psycat.]

Luckily, it seems like Eevee is kind of a breeder staple around here, so one shouldn't be too hard to find. And after that, you just have to spoil it with these little pastries and-

[Oh noo. He has to stifle a laugh when tiny purple fluffcat crawls across the camera.]

Eliot? Is that the name of that little one?

[It looks like it's Seen Some Shit, good lord.]

[Gently rolls her eyes at Eliot, lifts him so her face is actually visible and he's more nuzzled into her arm.]

Yes. I...caught him? The other day. It was kind of just him falling into the ball, but now he's here. [Pat pat.] He's kind of...awkward.

Anyway, first chance I get, I'll try and find myself an Eevee. Thank you.
