So a while back all of these new Pokemon started showing up, and no one knew where they came from. There were swarms like... every day, I think? For an entire month. And Spritzee happened to be one of those and Blake - Carter Blake, he's a big loud guy who I think used to be a cop? And declared himself president of this place. No one really listened to him but I tried to talk him down and manage his outbursts and stuff.
Anyway, Blake was getting swarmed by four Spritzee, and they looked like birds so I caught them. And then I realized that I'd probably want a female one since all of them were guys, just in case I ever wanted to breed them. But they're not even Flying-type which is really dumb.

Yep, they are. I mean I guess I can see why a penguin isn't Flying-type, but these things do fly. A little, at least.
Maybe flying was meant to be more of a descriptor of capability. Like there's one line that's just Dragon, and then the last evolution sprouts wings and suddenly they're part Flying-type.
